Join the Fight: Help Zak and His Family Raise £3,000 to Battle Child Cancer

Help Zak and his family fight Cancer

Zak is 9 years old, he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bone child cancer in July 2022.

After several months of treatment involving chemo and radiotherapy at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, a renowned children’s cancer hospital, Zak was able to return home and continue his life.

Unfortunately in early 2024, Zaks Mum and Dad received the devastating news from the paediatric oncologist that Zaks cancer had returned.

Zak has now restarted intensive chemotherapy in the oncology unit at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

Zak is a little warrior and will continue to fight cancer with the support of the oncology team as he did the first time round. Zak is a very outgoing and fun loving boy, he loves playing sports and is a huge Manchester United fan.

When he is not playing football he is enjoying the outdoors with his Mum Kirsy, Dad Danny and big brother Tyler.

During his time spent in the oncology ward, Ztak has built up a bucket list. To help his family achieve his dreams, we are helping to raise funds towards his bucket list goals and to also support Kirsty and Danny throughout Zaks cancer treatment.

At such a difficult time for the family we want to try and ease any pressure so Kirsty and Danny can fully focus on Zaks recovery with the help of family support services.

For the remainder of 2024 Jo, Lora and Phil with the help of our friends at Try Fitness will be undertaking various activities to help raise charitable donations for Zak. Our big event will be competing alder hey children’s charity

s in November.
We will log our progress on this page and keep everyone updated of our fundraising efforts, by the end of the year we will aim to complete an event every month leading up to Paris.

We have already completed a Hyrox event in Madrid and a 10k race this year and have several things lined up in the months ahead in preparation for Paris.

Any funds that exceed our target will also be donated to Alder Hey Children’s Charity, which supports Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.

Alder Hey donations help fund research, nutrition programs, clinical trials, haematology services, stem cell transplant treatments, innovative technology, patient care initiatives, the outpatient clinic, patient experience enhancements, paediatric oncology, play specialists, state-of-the-art equipment, the Youth Support Coordinator, medical improvements, the Teenage Cancer Trust partnership, the surgical neonatal appeal, ward musicians, the daycare department, the inpatient area, the family held record system, the ward-based chef programme, the Surgical Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and the Liverpool Neonatal Partnership. Gifts in wills and regular giving are also important ways to support this vital children’s hospital charity in charity Liverpool.
